2004 Announcements
December 1, 2004: The new issue of the Citizen Update newsletter talks about Federal actions for salmon and steelhead, and provides background on the NOAA Fisheries 2004 Biological Opinion for the Federal Columbia River Power System.
November 30, 2004: Today NOAA Fisheries released its biological opinion entitled "Consultation on Remand for Operation of the Federal Columbia River Power System and 19 Bureau of Reclamation Projects in the Columbia Basin (Biological Opinion on Remand)."
The Action Agencies' Final Updated Proposed Action for the FCRPS Biological Opinion Remand (UPA) is also provided with this release. The Action Agencies formally transmitted the final UPA to NOAA Fisheries on November 24, 2004. The federal agencies also released a Letter to the Region, a Comparison of Outcomes Between the 2000 and 2004 FCRPS Biological Opinions and a news release.
September 9, 2004: Today NOAA Fisheries released and filed its Draft Biological Opinion ("BiOp") on the operations of the Federal Columbia River Power System. NOAA Fisheries is seeking comment from the salmon co-managers on the draft BiOp. Also released today are highlights of the FCRPS Action Agencies' Updated Proposed Action ("UPA"), upon which the Draft BiOp is based.
